Setting up a Greengate Sofa-Bed

Q) How are the beds constructed?
Stage 1 - Open the first section. A firm pull upwards, then the springs take over to gently push up the action from within the bed
A) The usual Greengate sound construction is complemented with a very heavy duty bed action and a sprung interior, reversible mattress. If delivery is required to a difficult location, it is possible to remove the bed action from the frame, and then re-assemble the unit in-situ.
Q) Can I use a Greengate sofa-bed every day?
A) You can, but we would not recommend anyone to make any sleep-sofa their permanent bed. Ours provide superb weekend or short stay accommodation, but they can never be made to the same standards of comfort as a full size bed. As sofa-beds go, ours are the best you can buy!
Q) Can I fold the bed away with the bedding in place?
Stage 2 - open up the base section of the bed by grabbing the rail shown.
A) No, it is not possible to leave all bedding in place when using the bed as a sofa. Excess thickness of duvets and blankets will strain the mechanism when you try to close it, and will result in a deformed action which is not repairable.
Stage 3 - The action pops open easily, so all you have to do now is set up the bedding.
