The Manhattan sofas and chair have quickly established themselves as favourites in the range since their launch in '98. It certainly represents a new departure for Greengate in terms of fabric choice, although one should not be fooled by the jazzy, contemporary cloth we have used. The style can be made much more formal simply with a fabric change. Indeed, the design roots of this piece lie in a range we ran some twenty years ago called the "Club" which was inspired by the antique leather sofas found in the traditional London gentleman's club.
The sofa illustrated is the 3 seater, which has just 2 large seat cushions and is also supplied with 5 large scatter cushions as standard (the chair is supplied with 2 scatters)
Although the sofa looks contemporary, its construction is based on the use of the usual Greengate traditional fillings, (non-foam), such as hog hair and pure new cotton wadding to give comfort and durability. Hand finishing of all outside edges ensures flat, neat seams for the best possible finish.
